Further adding to this were the elements of visual effects that approximately took 1000 shots. Unlike most superhero films, Favreau wanted Iron Man 2 to have somewhat of an emotional trauma to portray to the fans in the form of Stark’s impending death. In order to make the movie as unique as it is, director Jon Favreau had to become creative in his ideas. The Marvel Cinematic Universe owes a major portion of its popularity to Iron Man 2 which had initially set up the foundation for the formation of the Avengers. The film ends as Fury tells Stark that S.H.I.E.L.D intends to use him as a consultant for their organization.
Vanko uses Rhodes’ armor along with the rest of the drones to attack Stark in his suit after which an intense action-packed fight takes place, resulting in Vanko committing suicide by blowing up his suit along with the rest of the drones. Vanko and Hammer reveal their new armored drones at an expo but are intercepted by Stark, James Rhodes, and Black Widow.
